True Potential Scholarship is ready for its 11th annual Fundraising Dinner
Everyone deserves a chance to better their life through education. Having a prepared and diverse workforce and a vibrant, prosperous community starts by creating opportunities for all. Hook n Sync, a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is set to elevate Omaha’s music and community scene with the ONE OMAHA MUSIC FESTIVAL. This groundbreaking event promises to deliver an experience of unparalleled scale and magnitude, uniting the entire city through the universal language of music. Spanning three days, the festival will feature a diverse range of musical genres and activities, fostering community spirit and cultural appreciation.

In her junior year of high school, Valeria Rodriguez took her Oath of Allegiance in Omaha and became an American citizen.
She and her family had driven seven hours across the state of Nebraska from her home in Scottsbluff to do so since there weren't any ceremonies offered in her community.
Until Thursday, new Americans living in western Nebraska made the drive to Denver for their naturalization ceremonies. Rodriguez, an accredited representative with Immigrant Legal Center and the executive director for Empowering Families, wanted to change that.

Organizer of environmental justice program seeks to expand to more cities

An education and advocacy program focused on environmental justice is looking to expand into more cities in the coming months.
Our Legacy Nebraska, a program funded by Conservation Nebraska, teaches residents how the environment shapes everyday lives, and how to advocate for change.
The program had a successful round in Omaha focused on lead and how to stay informed about potential lead dangers. Now, program director Favian Mendez Rodriguez said he plans to expand the program into new cities. Mendez Rodriguez added he didn’t know of any organized efforts similar to his program.
